Our proprietary multi-strategy Managed Futures program was developed by our Chief Investment Officer, Peter Erdös, who is based in Stockholm, Sweden, and is a former University of St. Gallen scholar. He is an internationally acknowledged PhD researcher with publications in, among others, Energy Policy, Financial Analysts Journal, and the Journal of Banking and Finance. This unique trading program involves more than four years of research and development.
The program is one hundred per cent systematic, fully automated from signal generation to execution, and provides daily liquidity. The system buys and sells liquid futures in commodities, equity indices, fixed income, and foreign exchange. The trading system combines five well-known strategies, including:
Momentum, which assumes that trends continue in the near future and therefore buys/sells assets whose prices have increased/decreased.
Carry, which aims to benefit from supply–demand imbalances.
Value, which buys/sells undervalued or overvalued assets.
Defensive, which buys/sells low- or high-risk assets.
Reversal, which is the opposite of momentum and buys/sells assets whose prices have decreased/increased.
In addition to the in-depth research forming the foundation of the trading system, it applies rigorous risk management and diversifies both across assets and strategies. The program trades more than 80 markets and targets ten per cent annualised volatility and at least ten per cent average annualised return.
